Ever listen to the Cheech and Chong where the nun asks the kids to write a report on what they did for their summer vacation?
“Okay. The first day, no my vacation. What I did on my summer vacation. The first day of my vacation, I work up. Then I went downtown – to look for a job. Then I hung out in front of the drugstore.”

Something like that. Anyways, that’s sort of how I feel sometimes. Every couple of months there are 3 or 4 fairly big fights all grouped together in the same time period….a championship in Thailand, another in Indonesia, then one in the PI, and finally another one upon returning to the Land of Smiles. It’s this sort of action I thrive on.
Although during the slow times I get to catch up around the house and get to spend time with the family, I do miss being on the road when I’m home for weeks.
Right now there’s not a huge amount going on although in the next few weeks Poonsawat, Terdsak, AJ Banal and a few others are fighting so hopefully some good fights and good articles will come out of my gallivanting around.

Supposed to go to the Olympics in a few weeks. We’ll see how that goes. I’m also supposed to go to Bangladesh in the next 6 months or so. Burma is also on the schedule but the Burmese embassy here in Thailand has turned down my visa the last two times I’ve applied.

The Indonesian publication who bought my Chris John photos contacted me and informed me they’re ready to publish and I should get my copy in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully I’ll get the Japanese magazine I’m waiting on too.

In case you didn’t know, Saenghiran Lookbanyai has moved up to featherweight. He recently fought Zaiki Takemoto and ended up getting a draw. I wonder how much his fight with Napapol took out of him. Chris John beat Takemoto’s ass like a red-headed stepchild so Lookbanyai’s dificulty with the Japanese fighter should give an idea of where he stands.
A while back a Thai promoter asked me who in his stable had a chance of winning a world title. He asked about four fighters and the only one who I thought had the slightest chance was Saenghiran. That was before the fight with Napapol though, and I don’t see Saenghiran having much of a chance at all at winning a world title.

I spent a few hours today adding the names of fighters who have asked me to assist them in getting fights. Some are name fighters, others are not. In any event, if you’re a promoter and/or manager and need fighters, I’ve got a rapidly growing list to choose from.

Oleydong looked quite good yesterday and although some of it had to do with his opponent, the Thai certainly has an abundance of talent. I personally think he’ll win a rematch with Eagle – but if they fight in Japan, ya never know what can happen. I wrote five versions of the fight report but I’ll be honest, even though Oleydong looked good yesterday, I don’t get very excited about the guys at 105 and 108 lbs. Personally my favorite weights run from 118-147, maybe up to middleweight. I’ll watch the heavyweights because they make a big boom when they hit the deck but the heavyweight division is deep in the toilet and in desperate need of an Ali, Tyson or even a Larry Holmes or Lennox Lewis!!!
Who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and get Sithsamerchai – Rachman or Sithsamerchai – Calderon. I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Oh and in case anyone cares – I went to the doctor today! Got a shot in the ass and taught my doctor how to solve the Rubik’s Cube. Oh yea, what a day baby.
Until later…
