Scheduling is a Job

June 7, 2008

I’ve spent the day figuring out what I’ll be doing for the next few months. Scheduling is a job in itself and my schedule is constantly changing. Which events will make money, which events will be fun, which events involve travel, etc., etc., etc. In the past few months, several photo agencies have contacted me about representing me but so far, I’ve yet to be signed. I’m selling more and more shots but I’d really like to have someone selling my work so I can concentrate more on shooting and less on marketing and selling. In addition to this, I try to write a few hours every day. It doesn’t leave much time.

Fighters often say the hardest part of the game is the training. The fight is easy. Well, for me, it’s the event that is easy – even enjoyable. The office work, the archiving, the rewrites – this is the real grunt work. WIth summer approaching quickly, I’m getting busier and busier and for the next 2-3 months my schedule is full.
