Last Night

June 5, 2008

So I went to Rajdamnern Stadium last night. Spoke with Yodtong Senanan. More commonly referred to as Sityodtong, Yodtong has been responsible for shaping the lives of many Muay Thai fighters and western boxers around the world. In the next few weeks I’ll travel to his camp in Pattaya and do an in-depth interview with him. Interestingly, he informed me Yodsanan Sor Nanthachai is only 33, not 37 or 38 as some seem to think. He also said Yodsanan and Sirimongkol Singwangcha are currently the two best fighters in Thailand.

The fights at Rajdamnern last night were excellent and I will be posting some photos as time permits. One of my favorite fighters, Lumpini stadium super bantamweight champion Detnarong Sitjaboon was in action, dropping a decision to Petchboonchu F.A. Group. There was no way Petchboonchu won the bout.

Knocked Out Cold

In my opinion, he was given the victory – for whatever reason. In the main event, Kanchai Fairtex was obliterated by Wuthidech Lookbanyai, knocked flat on his back by a wicked elbow in round three. Somehow, he managed to rise, only to be stopped moments later.

As for what I’m up to outside of boxing and Muay Thai, I am in the process of writing several books and to pay the bills have been writing for a local newspaper and authored a couple of e-books. Today and tomorrow I will spend most of my time sending out queries and pitching ideas to editors.

After being flattened, this fighter had a hard time figuring out which way was up
